TCS Labs

NOTE: Students were selected based on their resume.(they check your project and Area of Interest)

It was one telephonic round with Pune team and face to face round with Hyderabad team.

Hyderabad lab:
Explained about project.(can use board)
More discussion based on feature selection.
While discussing asked the mentioned algorithm's complexity.
For example. How to reduce knn complexity. What is k means clustering complexity etc
Questions connected to data structures and optimisations.
Normal interview preparation with programming questions will not work.
Good knowledge in algorithms, complexity reduction can help you out to solve the questions fired at you.

Pune team( telephonic ):
Tell me about yourself.
Explained project.
Discussion based on project went for a while.
All the details about project , how we will do, what you want to do, what kind of datasets etc
Asked about why you want to join RD?since I mentioned I am interested in PhD.
Then questions turned to discussion(chit chat) based on normal research, which publications/conferences you know, which faculities under which you prefer to do PhD, area of interest, about their organisation.etc
I asked about their projects, all the three members from the panel explained about their project in detail. Again for sometime discussions happened based on their project topic.
Their area was applied algorithms and recent work happening in data privacy.
Asked a small puzzle.
Again told me to explain Btech project.
I hope this is all about transparency during discussion. And our enthusiasm towards research field.
Panel was very friendly. And it was a very good discussion happened with me for more than one hour.
